During phase 1, I think I did amazing. I was flying through all my assignments and so far ahead that I completed my first MOS Exam-Microsoft Word in a week in a half of the semester starting. Working through the LabSim assignments I found it to be very engaging and helping me improve my practical skills and gain a clearer understanding of the material. I wouldn't do anything differently since I was at a good pace.
For Discussion 4 Part 2, I chose 4.5.2 Page and Column Breaks. I chose this topic because back when I used write essays, when I needed a paragraph to start on a new page I would repeatedly press the enter key, without realizing there was a page break option available.
I already took the MOS Exam-Microsoft Word. What I did to prepare was redo the live projects and the practice exams multiple times.
Amazing indeed! You are the fastest student to qualify and take the MO-110 Word exam in my memory, Viviana :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you learned the proper way to designate a paragraph to automatically start on a new page instead of spamming the ENTER key ^_^
You will conquer other Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification exams like you did with MO-110.
Hi Viviana, that’s honestly impressive that you finished the MOS Word exam that early in the semester. I’m also one of the people trying to move at that speed, but I noticed something about myself when I did that. When I rushed through the Excel and PowerPoint exams, I passed, but I think I sacrificed some accuracy and quality in the process. If I slowed down and practiced more, I probably could have gotten a higher score.
ReplyDeleteI also laughed a little when you mentioned pressing the enter key repeatedly to move a paragraph to the next page because I used to do the exact same thing. Before this class, I didn’t even know page breaks existed. It’s funny how small tools like that can save so much time once you learn them. Redoing the live projects and practice exams really does help the steps stick. Hopefully the rest of the certifications go smoothly for both of us.
Hello Viviana! It's impressive that you are so ahead in the class, I wouldn't do anything different if I were you too! I also use to repeatedly press the enter key to start on the next page too, page breaks are great. I'm sure you'll do great on your other exams!
ReplyDeleteHi Viviana. Congratulations on your first MOS exam. I like your strategy of redoing the live projects and practice exams to prepare for upcoming exams. I also use this method to help myself prepare for them. Using this method helps reinforce the steps to do certain tasks so I feel more confident with fulfilling them without having to look back at my notes.
ReplyDeleteHey Viviana, I found out probably when you did, I remember in High school and even quite some time ago while in college when I needed to start a page break, it's really useful.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to what you said about learning Page and Column Breaks—I used to do the same thing with the Enter key before realizing there was a proper tool for it, it really does make formatting way easier once you know it.
ReplyDeleteI want to follow suit and be far and well ahead in my assignments like you are. Great job on staying ahead and best of luck!
ReplyDeleteHi Viviana, it's amazing that you were able to push so far ahead. I can imagine the rest of the class is much easier for you.
ReplyDeleteHello, Viviana, great to hear that you were ahead of your assignments and completed the MOS Exam-Microsoft in a week in phase 1.
ReplyDeleteHello Viviana, it's super impressive you were able to take the MOS-110 exam so early. I took my time on taking my exam and I was still very nervous.
ReplyDeleteHi Viviana, it definitely takes dedication and focus to complete MO110 that quick into the semester, good for you! Page and Column Breaks have been a game changer in my Word experience, I don't need to spam enter to create space anymore!
ReplyDeleteHi Viviana! As one of your in-person classmates, it was supper inspiring to see how far ahead you were with all of your work and exams! Keep up the great work ^_^
ReplyDeleteI also redo live projects, they are really useful.
ReplyDeleteHi Viviana, congrats on being one of the ones so far ahead in the course. I totally get the page‑break struggle too. I also used to hit Enter over and over without realizing there was an actual tool for it haha.
ReplyDeleteHello Viviana. Your pace was very impressive! I remember being surprised that you knocked the Word exam out that quickly! Good choice with the page breaks, I also used the enter key before I learned about this feature.

ReplyDeleteAlways inspiring to see someone achieve goals like taking the MOS exam earlier than expected. I also planned it out like that but it didn't come into fruition since I got other classes like Pre-Calc taking majority of my time.
ReplyDeletePage breaks are a game changer, I always use them now when I need my documents spaced out! Good lesson from that chapter.
Hello Viviana, I liked reading about your strong progress and how motivated you’ve been throughout the class. Your example about discovering page breaks was relatable and shows how useful these Word features can be.
ReplyDeleteHi Viviana, that's exactly what I did with Microsoft Word when I would write essays, I would press the enter key multiple times without realizing there was a "page break" button. It's always great to see other students succeed in this class with flying colors because it inspires me to keep going and work hard. Hope you've had a great semester!
ReplyDeleteThe page and column breaks indeed helps a LOT and I wish I found out about it for my essay writing class years ago (ENG 100). I am very much guilty of also spamming that ENTER key haha :)
